Default Hello WYIOCS

Hi there am Steve some of you know me sort of i own a toyota celica i see the majority of you at squires each month. But now im looking to change my car and look for a new shape scooby. What a transition this will be from FWD to AWD.

Anyway i have a couple of questions to ask about the cars in general so bare with me. I've never been known to wait if i see something i want i will get it regardless.

Ive just seen a car on autotrader from Keighley Torque not Keighley Trade.

And was wondering what do you all think to this. Plus what sort of things do i look out for on a car like this.

SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 WRX STi 4dr Version 7 JDM - Auto Trader UK

Quite a head turner as i like my toys on a car.

Well slightly off topic on the hello , Sorry but im excited

Welcome
Pretty new to the subaru scene myself so dont really know much.
Looks like a nice car but maybe the price is a bit high?

Hi Steve

These guys have nothing to do with Shab & Co (aka Keighley Trade Centre) but I would be staying clear none the less. If you know someone who knows their Subarus inside and out then it might be worth a look otherwise I'd be searching for a similar car with a more reputable trader.
Dont mean to put a dampner on things but hate for your first experience of Subaru ownership to be a poor one.

Thankyou hope to be getting Rick from RE Motorsport to come have a look at it. I guess i should start with a standard car but id only go spending lots of money on it. much like my celica.

Anyway hopefully will know whats what soon enough.

Thanks again

Check Pistonheads for Imprezas, theres over 500 for sale on there and alot of them are in real good condition, looks like they've been looked after by enthusiasts.

Good advice taking Rick.

They bulk import 2nd hand cards. Could get a minter or could get a lemon.

Just be careful - they look exactly the same as the other Keighley mob and the horror stories are long and sad...

Personally I'd steer clear of it based on the centre console and gaiter! Rick would be able to spot a lemon in about 30 seconds so if he is kind enough to go with you I'd have more confidence.

Well thats reassuring Steve. Their premises are about five minutes from me and are pretty poor tbh. If you go to look its just down the side of the Ford/ Rapid Fit centre. Dont let the dog scare you
As Knobby says though there is a chance it could be a minter. Rick will be on the ball (just booked a service and a few bits with him on the 26th Sept)

Best of luck.

although your right about pistonheads i still have my own car to sell and thats why im trying to find a garage to trade it in with as it will be my luck that i find a nice car and think yes want that and yet cant get it as still have my celica.

I guess my limit on spending is 10 - 11k for a WRX or STi prefer new shape model bug eye just to be awkward. As you will all learn ask claire she will confirm it. preferably in silver or graphite ..... may have a word with rick and see if he deals in imports too. That one i do like very much especially the front grille its all about the look of the car as ive never been one to blend in.

Well guess we will wait and see. Thankyou for all your help so far. your all great

I think they are ok. and what you see is what you buy. i went with my mate andy. we spent all day. and drove away with a genuine 38.000. silver WRX. its mint and it had only been in there 1 week..he posts as priceywrx. and he as had it now 8 months and as never mist a beat... He would have bought one that had got it all.... but like i said start standard and you make it yours.... not buy someones ****e that he got rid of for obvious reasons... . Think he will take yours in mate. nice car..

Regards

Dave.

Im sure if you put up a post "wanting" one heres the place to ask, i bet theres a few peole on here selling one and you should get honest answers on here because everybody usually knows what there is to know about other peoples cars and at the end of the day it is full of "enthusiasts" and theres alot of pride goes into the cars on here (and i know, i know, ours is always mucky!! ).

And hi JB, how you doing fella?

Well i want to say thankyou for thursday night i was really worried nobody was speak to me but resting easy now as your all wonderful.

Very informative i think learnt alot of things and somethings i really shouldnt know about people lol. My car i will sadly be removing parts tomorrow and sunday so she will blend in with every other car on the road these days. But alas needs must and i will soon be smiling once more except i will have a lot more growl with the new car.

Hello to Ellie from AET i was the one that came to collect Girl in a scoobs exhaust that early sunday morning.

See you all monday and tuesday no doubt

Wont get scooby back for a while yet but she'll be good when she comes back

HEY!! Ive just seen the "slower than JB's" comment - well guess what the pistons and cams that Andy has decided to put in will take up to 700bhp so we are back in the game

Nice to see that flux capacitors still need good old-fashioned HT leads
