Thinking of selling my car as i plan to start motorbike racing again, at the moment i cant afford to do both. So i am thinking race for a short while and then when the wife has forgotten, purchase a new STI. Dont want to lose the car but a new house and racing again are going to force me too . Is it best to offer it back to a Subaru dealer as its still under there approved warranty.

 

If the car is on finance you can only give the car back when it is no longer in negative equity, basically when you've paid half of the price off.

If you've paid it off, you can try and chop it in at the dealer, but don't expect anything like decent money back.

 

Oh no there is more than half of it paid off, when i bought the car i paid a large cash deposit. I am just unsure as to how you trade agaisnt a car/van thats worth a lot less?

 

I would also like to know as mine is same year with 58000 on clock, there was a 03 wrx silver in Bowetts yesterday and they wanted £11500 for it. Which is £1500 more than I paid for mine a year ago.

 

I saw an 02 wrx in black with 47k on clock.... looked mint condition and that was up at 11695 at R N GOLDENS huds if that helps

 

If your trading against a car/van thats priced less than your car is worth what normally happens is you get a cheque for the difference.

 

you do if you go to carcraft, that's what I did. Got a cheque back within two weeks

 

Car craft will rip you off tho.... there cars average 2-3k more than anywhere else

Dont worry it was taken as a light hearted joke. I am getting rid beacause i will be spending a fair bit of time working on my new house and a van will be just the ticket. I plan to start racing motorbikes again as they have always been my first love although i intend to buy another Scooby or something from the dark side maybe next year

Yes i know and i dont want to start the Evo V Scooby argument again I actually much prefer the Scooby next time maybe a STI in either white or black
