Default I'll Be On TV :-)

Some of you know that I spent 4 days with my Brothers hard landscaping company doing 'Gardener Of The year' for the BBC in the summer... Well.. the programme is due to show next Saturday on BBC2 at 8:15 PM for an Hour..

I'll be the dude trying to look like I know what I'm doing and grafting

TBH.. as professionals, we weren't allowed to help as it was a competition for the 5 contestants.... so there may be a few shots of me not answering those simple questions like ' What soil PH should a Juniperus scopulorum be bedded in...?'

Autograph orders now being taken ....

BTW.. Juniperus scopulorum also known as 'Skyrocket'
Expose to Full sun, Partial shade
This is a hardy bugger
Bed in well-drained/light, Acidic, Chalky/alkaline, Dry, Moist soil.
Take cuttings May to August ..

Since your our very own Alan Titchmarsh can you explain why my new Bonsai tree is shedding its leaves. Info says dont water much in winter but i seem to be!!! Could it be too much water.

Sorry to sound boring but at lmost £100 for the tree its a few pennies to lose

Hi mate.. sounds like too little water. they may need watering 2-3 times per day in summer, but only once a month in winter... Also depends on where you keep it, size etc..? If it's in a heated conservatory then it still may need watering once a day.. it really is a personal thing.. but the the tree seems to be telling you to water it.

Too much water will rot the roots rather than drop leaves, so if you can, lift it out of the pot and see how wet the roots are.. they shouldn't be sodden or sitting in water..

HTH..
