Unhappy Hi,got a scoob,but need advice!

Have got this MY93 Classic wrx,but it seems to have developed engine problems today,it was fine on the test run before I bought it,the engine is misfiring/juddering, and theres oil burning off near the inlet manifold, also when on cold startup theres blue smoke coming from the tail pipe,I suspect turbo problems, and if so does anyone know of Garage who can deal or replace the turbo near Leeds or Yorkshire.
Cheers.

the misfire could be a coil pack down or fooked plug. Very common. Easy repair. The oil burning i would say is a leak in the rocker cover i'd say. Usualy on driver side. Again £40 repair. And smoke on start-up may indicate piston ring wear.

The turbo is a MHI (Mitsubishi) sleeve bearing item, not usual to have problems with them (not unknown), if the turbo seals had failed you would have grey white smoke out of the exhaust (turbine seals) or lots of blue out of the exhaust (compressor seals) so from what you say its not likely to be that, have to say you could have a more serious problem, tell us what you were doing with it when this first occured ?

cheers

Well I took to Aeromotives in Birstall so Phil could have a look at it,and its turbo problems,as I had this problem before on my 99saab turbo and reckonised the faults, and Phil is used to fitting and checking turbos,so I've since bought wrx 1994 second hand one on the internet, just hope its the right one, because my car is 93model and an import.
Fingers crossed.

oil is coming from the dump valve and this shouldn't happen, and thus is soaking the plugs causing misfire.
