My fekkin screen is cracked
The guys from Autoglass Leeds are replacing it on Thursday. Is there anything I need to watch out for regarding seals being put back properly or potential damage to any paintwork?
Good thing is it's only a few hours to the NBO
See you there!!

Just inspect it carefully after they've done it, and anything you're not happy with point out straight away. Never had one done, but like letting anyone loose on your Scoob, watch them like a hawk.

Thanks for the reply. Just common sense then I suppose, I thought maybe with the Scooby there may be something that I ought to be looking out for. Especially stray stones!!!!

Never take any car of value or beauty through a car wash !
But as Subaru's are both cheap and ugly I suppose you could, but I wouldn't

I had the screen cracked on the first day out in my brand new bugeye a few years back
AFAIR Autowindscreens did it - they turn up with their own glass but I had to wait a week for the official seal surround to come in from the Subaru dealer
Watch out when they do it as they might use a knife shaped like a tent peg puller (t-shaped with a hook on the end) to cut out the old seal - they nicked some of the paint off on both corners at the top of the screen on the roof - where the front of the luggage channel is (have a look beforehand and you'll see where I mean.) I watched them tugging and writhing away at the seal there but didn't realise about the paint until later - managed to cover it with touch-up but it's better if it's not done in the first place...

Well the new screen is in complete with seals, only problem is the guy has scratched paint off the NS A pillar
He assures me there will be no problem, the company will pay for the repair, I got him to write down on the invoice what had happened, lets just hope that there will be no more problems.

Well the repair has been made. A company called AuotRestore came to work, set up a FULL SIZE spray booth in the car park and did the job on site VERY IMPRESSIVE set up. The van had all the gear, mixing system, heaters, UV lamps the lot. The guy who did the repair Gareth, is from Hanging Heaton, he's after an02/03 STi preferably in silver. Seemed interested in joining us when he gets one sorted.
