Default 'Chairmanship'.....

I've been meaning to post this for a while......

Now, I know the post is actually just a name and that whoever holds it is just a point of contact and has no real Chairmanship duties, but I've held this since the club decided to get a little more formal, a few years ago, and appoint the post of Chairman, Secretary (Chris), Events Sec (David), Membership Sec (Sticky) and a few other posts which were not really used.....

I'd like to canvass the idea and open the discussion about moving the shoes on to someone else.... I don't know if anyone actually wants it, but I feel it right to say that it should be open for someone else to step in if they wish...

I won't start a poll, as that is a little naff for this, but just to start some open debate and give the oppurtunity for someone to openly say they'd like to pick up the post and add something different to the club in drive & direction. Don't be afraid to step forward, it's not mine by right or vote.. just that I was press ganged on the committee night...

Work and family life does intrude sometimes into my being able to attend all the events, but I'll state now that I'm happy to continue in the roll.

Al, remember the experience of when you were square-bashing, they asked for a volunteer and you heard everybody else take a step backwards...

Who said a job for life was dead?

Thanks guys. Seems pretty positive so far from some of the older, more mature or 'bedded in' members

As I said, I'm happy to keep doing the things I'm doing, but I don't want it to get stale...

Any comments to the contrary??? PM me if you wish..

AL as a new member i must say that ive been about to various clubs and have tried to become a regular member of them (i'll not post names)/Ive had ownership of scoobs since 2001 and have finaly found a club of like minded and what can only be described as top people with a top chairman who's never too busy for you and made me feel very welcome from the first minute

and with you at the helm seems the only way foward in my eyes keep up the good work

p.s the polo hasn't gone to you're head has it low fuel costs and such like
