Default Thursday 16th FEB Mid-month Mystery Tour

Right, the mystery tour is no longer a mystery.

Thursday 16th mid month run will be to The Tennant Arms, Kilnsey.

Just got back from a recce of the area (Yes it IS 2:30 AM )

Had a fantastic meal at the aforementioned pub, and the landlord said that they'd be more than happy to accomodate us.

Great food, reasonable prices, and some nice roads to boot. What more could anyone ask?

Can everyone who's going get their names down sharpish then we can give the pub advance notice of numbers.

Dave, I take it you'll lead the run, assuming you can make it, of course.

Suggested meeting points...

Holmfield Arms 7:00pm for 7:10 departure

Brickworks 7:30 for departue as soon as the Holmfield lot arrive.

With a possible additional meet point at that lay-by we usually use, Dave??? just before Ilkley, for any North Leeds folks.

Drive up to Kilnsey for meal / chat / shandy then either a blatt round the dales or home, depending on time and opinions.

Hope that's okay...

Gonna be 8:15 or so by the time we get around the edge of Leeds to the lay-by at Burley-in-Wharfedale, then 9-ish by the time we park at Kilnsey (I thought you'd like the food there ). Is the landlord OK with food orders that late, might be worth a call especially if we're delayed and it gets any later.

With just us 3 then you may as well call by my house as it's en-route to The Dales. If anyone doesn't know where it is then we can still do the Brickworks meet at 7:30.

Anyone wanna make it earlier ?

Not one to look at changing plans at a late stage but wouldn't it be easier to head Westish? **Cough** As getting North through Leeds will restrict our time at the pub and getting to the Brickworks any earlier than 7:30 is going to be tight for me.. wouldn't Saddleworth and that side be better from the Brickworks?

Just a thought..

Al, Hull is east, Saddleworth is north of Manchester which last time I looked was west of here We could head that way, but it takes 20-30 mins to get to J.22 where we will end up on unfamiliar roads. At least we know where we're going in The Dales, and it is still only 20-30 mins to Burley-in-Wharfedale where the fun roads begin.

Fairy snuff mate.. Just thought a Westward drive would be easier on time..

No issues, if you think North is better all round then North it is...

Unfortunately, I'll have to give this one a miss - got rid of the chest cold only to pick it up again last couple of days so if I cough hard enough, I chunder

I guess I wouldn't be the most popular if I turned up...

Have a good run and noshing and don't scare off Jo if she goes.

Andy

PS My dad remembers being stripped off in the Tennant Arms as a youth on a Sunday School weekend but that's a story for another time

Just spied this one. Will pop along if thats ok

What time will you be at the layby near B in W.

Think I will bring the GF so I can have beer and she can drive back

The roads up round Kilnsey,Kettlewell and Burnsal used to be my playground on the bike years ago. They dont get much better

Al if your coming over this way could I blag a lift in that nice shiney motor of yours

I seem to be having some wheel balance/tracking/geometry probs which if I can't get it sorted out tomorrow I won't be able to attend the car does not feel stable at speeds of 70+mph so I'm not too keen on blatting around roads I don't know in the dark and also possibly wet

Again

I'll buy you a pint

I do know how tomorrow is going to pan out, and I'm not gonna be able to make this

Blame it on...
a broken digital printer, needed a £15 ribbon cable and a £275 / hour techie to fit, but meant that no work was done Monday...
a broken laminator, needed a couple of screws removing from a side panel and the drive chain re-fitting. Blame it on a dumb singwriter thinking it must be something really serious and panicking...
a now fixed digital printer that seems to be having problems aligning printing and cutting on days which contain the letter 'Y'. Blame it on the fact that it's very probably female.

As a result, whilst you guys are blatting round the Dales and doing a spot of Sheep worrying I'll be at work / asleep / having a nervous breakdown / suicidal Delete where applicable.

Hope you get it all sorted If you need extra manpower I could spare you some time next week. Call me

If everyone else is OK then it's still Al (with Daz ) meeting me and possibly Jo (Miss Speedy) at The Brickworks, and then on to B-in-W to meet Ian. Not the best turnout, but after the confusion about dates and the short notice it will still be fun. I'm definately up for it as I won't be at the main meet this month.

David..

I've just had a call from Dave Carter. He's having probs logging in to SNET, But he'll be at the Brickworks at 7:15.

I won't know for sure until a little later how things turn out here at work... so no full confirmation from me just yet

Daz, can you get to the Brickworks or do you need picking up?

That will have been me in the blue Bugeye Wagon.
The kids have changed schools now from Myrtle park to Crossflats. They dont need to be there till 8.45 so I can have an extra 10 mins lie in and set off a bit later now

I don't know where that is so a pickup would be great if you can

Edited to say: When I posted this, Al's last post was not on the screen, that's why it doesn't make sense.

It looks like I'll be giving it a miss then unfortunately

Al, you don't need a job just sell some of your lasses shoes on ebay, if she's owt like mine she won't miss a few hundred pairs
