They are illegal. I have never bothered with them. Everytime I bought an Impreza the previous owner had one on or was giving one with the sale. I told them they could keep the smaller number plates. These cars attrack enough attention as it is. Don't forget you are in Bham where the cops hate us.

There is quite a lot to take in regarding the law, and I could easily spool loads of the legal jargon, but your best looking here for a full explanation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle...United_Kingdom

Take note of the Typography section

In a nutshell your registration plates are required to have characters at 79mm tall, and 50mm wide (exc "I" and "1"). The stroke width is 13mm, and the spacing between characters is 11mm, the group spacing is also 33mm. A space between the characters and the edge of plate also needs to be at least 11mm.

I agree with Nossy, why bother. £60 fine plus the cost of a plate. Not worth it tbh

Rob Day did mine. Legal size letters, legal spacing, legal size around letters, all legal postcode & BS symbols etc, just spaced to the legal minimum requirement so that its all still on the right side of the law. Looks 100 times better than standard and passes MOT every time. never been stopped by the Rozzers!
