Default number plate question

hi folks,

my car had a private reg on it, i decided to put my own on top of this one, now that i have taken mine off it has come back on the original non transferable reg, what happens to the private plate in between? i thought it would automatically go back on that?

any help appreciated

Unless you put the private reg on retention (25quid a year) you have lost the private reg

if i understand ya question right(only just got woke up lol) but when you take ya private off and ya pay your retention, that plate just sits about on paerwork,as its registerd to that vehicle and ya can only have one plate on at atime obviously,to use the private on another vehicle ya have to pay the £120? again for transfer,if ya have paid retention you still own it tho..hope that helps
oh yeah make sure ya pay £25 every year its NOT on ya car to make sure ya still own it.......
