Brake Problem
Ive had some new discs and pads. They have been on for 2 months now,and have developed a very severe judder. any clues.
No i havent been braking hard, and yes i did run them in for about 600 miles.

Just had blue stuff pads in and finding them way too hard even after assurances from the trader telling me they are fine from cold. Did they get any better once bedded in (ignoring the judder problem) as I'm not best pleased considering the price of them.

Once you have bedded the discs and pads in , they will be very good , even in the snow and ice we had before christmas , and we found them just as happy tanking it around castle coombe
What miles have you put on them so far ?

Only 90 miles but its like they arent even there
gets me into a bit of a panic sometimes as i dont want to hammer the brakes. I know its still early days but ive never had anything like this when bedding in pads, is it possible the fitter got grease on the pad surface?
Didnt mean to sound like I was bad mouthing you on a public forum just wanted someones opinion on the bedding in period. I was trying to be discreet, but obviously not discreet enough

Thanks for the reply anyway. Cant knock your service

I found them good from new , and fantastic when bedded in ?? it could very well be grease on the pad surface , what does the disc face look like . something sounds up for them not to bite at all ??
I didn't take it as bad mouthing , I seen it as asking a genuine question .
There was a bedding in sheet with your invoice , we recommend 300 miles of normal driving with no hard braking in this time , them when you have clocked up 300 miles , do some hard braking from 70-90 down to 20 , after each time carry on driving to cool them off , do this 5 or 6 times and they should be ready.
Cheers Ian

one pad looked slightly black like a streak and almost a burnt look to it so I guess it was slightly dirty when fitted?
Dumb question but do I need to worry about brake fluid since taking pads out?

I had about 600+miles on mine but still not good. Mvs stipped and cleaned front and back and it was better. Been out today and still getting judder with hard braking.the discs are not warped cuz MVS checked them.

The pad that was darker , did the pad fit into caliper easy , did they all slide in with 2 fingers ? If it's discoloured it maybe overheating caused by the pad being a tight fit , in the calipers at the end of the pads there are small metal plate to stop the pad backing plates damaging the alloy calipers , you can get some corrosion and dust under these and bends them away from the calip making the pads too tight when in place.
We are seeing it more and more on the sti and evo calipers now , the Porsche brembos are buggers for doing it.
The dark patch could be grease , as you have only clocked up 90 miles , put a bit more on them and do one hard stop from speed and see what they are like

No you don't have to worry about the fluid or have to bleed them.
