Default Git in a Ford Focus bedford 7.30am

Was on my way to work this morning (in bedford) when a guy pulled out in front of me as I was about 2 car lengths away from exiting the roundabout when he just flashed out in front of me (Roundabout at the end of Rope walk twds Tesco's for you Bedfordian's) and went off along the way i was going, so me, Red Mist descending decides I am going to give him the verbals, so on with the heavy boots and foot is rammed to the floor to get next to him. Its at this point that my world went sideways and my bottom went parp parp. This was one of those times where everything that was needed to try and kill you was in place. Road was soaking wet, Adverse camber on the road, a need for more tyre pressure in my offside rear, and the boost coming on at the exact wrong moment.

The back wheels lost grip (actually all 4 lost grip if i think about it) and I went to about 70 degrees drift....kerb is now starting to wave at me in a "Hi Ray, come and see me next" way, so I spun the wheel the other way, which drifts me again in the opposite way, only this time I am side onto the guy whom I want to have a shout at. He's looking at me out the side window thinking "This guys mental, he's trying to kill me", so I hammered the brake on, and manage to straighten the car up and drift back behind him and carry onto work, slowly I may add.

It could of been so much worse than me needing to check my pants at work, so much. I could of hit him, hit the kerb, or rolled the car, but luckily the great god "Drifto" smiled at me today.

When i told a guy at work, he said "Its 4 wheel drive, you cant lose grip". Oh how i laughed as i imagined stamping on his head.

Let that be a lesson to you all....it was for me, so just call me Mr Mincey from now on

Hope you got a smile from it, cos i didnt.

Ray

You should of just told Paddy to get out and whack him instead on indulging in uncontrolled drift antics

incidentally, not having a go at you El Cat, but I dont drive like that all the time, and you dont know me at all (same as i dont know you) however I am sure if someone cut you up, or did something to you, you would also vent your spleen at them. My stupidity almost cost me my car, possibly his car, possibly worse, and I learned a lesson today (as I said in my original post). Dont preach to me about giving other scoob drivers a bad name, I have a wife and kids who are often out with me, and other than being amazed at how most people drive around with their heads up their asses, I consider myself (well, now considered myself) a good driver.

Bit of anger management is all I need and a padded room and i'll be ok

How much extra does it cost to insure your scoob if you are going to use it as a weapon? Or has this person just not bothered to declare this fact to his insurers?

good point labpedro but its not thinking about costing you your cars by smashing them up its innocent by standers that could get hurt!
funnily enough i pootle round in my scooby! gave up racing when i had a 205 GTI when i was 19!
i would have just stayed on his tail and followed him to his destination and vented my anger verbally upon arrival at where he was going!
driving like that is what is giving scooby drivers a bad name and rep!
dont soop to the level of chavs who are buying cheap imprezas and not bothering to insure them and drive like idiots!
i laways have my family in mine with me as its our family car! i just drive as if they are with me in the car even when i am on my own!

wasnt what you said that i deleted my post. I regret posting this now, however, had I not mentioned the other driver, I am sure everyone would of said "wow, lucky escape for you, glad you are ok"

Best rush out and top up on Burberry stuff, and a shell suit. Maybe sell the scoob for a chavalier.

As I have said, I've learned a valuable lesson from this (2 if you include keeping my f**king mouth shut), but hopefully it will prove that 4 wheel drive does not mean invincible.
