Default Electronic - Was It You - Tag in your car??

Ladies and Gents

We've been approached by a company which is producing a very clever device and offering it to scoobynet, and a number of other car clubs.

The device sits on your dash board, and is programmed with your "club" ID ("ScoobyNet" in our case, obviously) and your username / id.

When you get in range of another car with a device fitted, their club and username pops up on the LCD screen on the device to tell you who they are and what club they're from.

The idea is that you then plug it into your PC via a usb socket and upload your history to the server. There is then a leaderboard by club, etc to show who has been seen the most, who has seen the most other people, etc.

I think this sounds like a great bit of fun, so we're really interested.

They are suggesting the cost of the unit will be around £90.

I have no idea whether this would be of enormous interest here or not?

Could you please let us know here if you would buy one should we agree to do it?

Regards,
webmaster

sounds like fun!!!!
BUT £90 maybe a bit much, just for car/club spotting,
maybe if you get SO MANY poeople wanting it, get a discount!! e.g per club!!!!
just my view. baz

Too dear. What about opening it up to a few other clubs/sites as a group to get the price down somewhat?

I would have one, but not at that price. A bit much for what it is.

Sounds like a top idea! Again, I'd say £90 was too steep for it though.

Sarasquares is bound to win this if she buys one

Way way too pricey at £90 when you can post on here for free

My thoughts too - price makes it too much... Although I have a scoobysense so I know one's about to pass before I see it... Or is that just when coz I can here JohnWRX's all the way from the Wirral when Im in St Helens... I dunno

Agree with Chris, excellent idea - I would probably pay ninety quid for it.

But!

With that kind of price theres going to be few using it. Drop the price down and hopefully more of us will buy and the idea will really take off. Then it will be worthwhile buying.
