911 vs Supra - Dorset Way
A silver MKIV (I think) Supra with a dark blue/black 911 (996) stuck right on his bumper (a bit too close).
Both went past at serious speed tonight on the Dorset way. Supra had to pull over. Could have been a GT3 (or a C2/4 with bodykit). Both were seriously quick!

I thought Supra's were monster quick? 3ltr twin turbo? More than a match for any standard scoob and as quick as a 911?
I have a wrx with decat and a friends Supra (standard) has no problems passing me. Infact, in a straight line it pulls away quite strong.
I've never been in his Supra, and I've only had the one encounter with it. But I was impressed. He says it's a pig in the wet though!

I had a long long battle with one on some fast A roads when I had a decatted STi4 (300 bhp). It was a Turbo supra and had a big tasty pipe on it. Repeatedly kept up with its rear bumper to well over 100 Lots of roundabouts and no-one around
Most Supra's aren't standard, and as Ron said, the porker isn't what it seems! Very nice all the same.

It was I in the 911. Can't believe I got spotted on here!! I think I got spotted once while I had the scoob.
And even stranger is the fact I don't often come on SN anymore and rarely look at the 'was it you' page, strange!
It's a 996 C2 with aero kit, though wish it was a GT3!
Had to back off the throttle big time so as not to go into the back of the Supra. When he pulled over, I went past with relative ease. Lifted off at 151 (it was on a private road, not the Dorset way).
Done several Supras now.
It was the same story when I had my STi Type R (310bhp)
However, I did get beaten by what must have been a heavily modified Supra a couple of months ago. It pulled two cars length on me by 110
Round the bends however, I was all over it.
A P1 tried it on down the same stretch of road the night before and suffered the same fate as the Supra, was it you?

I'll take the Pepsi challenge, If it's standard.
P1 0-100 13.3
911 0-100 11.0
I think I've seen your car where I teach at the Sir David English sports centre.
Could have an experiment on the way home one night, in the interest of science of course!

This could so easily end as 'one of those threads' So;
I was of course lying, I didn't beat a Supra or P1. Furthermore all scoobs, Supra's, infact all Jap rice boxes are far superiour to my Porsche 911. Not only in terms of performance, but also in looks, prestige and desirability.
There is absolutely no way I could, with 300bhp and 1,300kg's beat a car of heavier weight and similar or less power. Let alone a 4WD with less power and more weight. What was I thinking??
There, better?
I LOVE SN!!

I have seen your car down there too.
Very nice chap, wouldn't mind one of them myself in the near future
I won't argue as I have seen the martial art that you teach.
Agreed, if the P1 was standard then it would be an easy one nil to you, just watch out for those modded ones

oops! didn't mean to start an argument! Looked like the Supra was trying to me.
If those 0-100 figures are correct for the 911 (11.0), then that makes it faster than either P1 (13.3) or Supra (12.3). And if the 911 is that far ahead at 100mph then at 150+mph surely it's got to be even further ahead?
Either way, given the choice of the three, I know which one I'd have!!

I Happen to drive a scooby sti and a supra twin turbo. Standard supra will do 180mph and handle the road in dry (ONLY DRY) (Hence my scooby). My mate has a 911 GT3 have colour coded wheels (silver and colour of car). No match for my supra.....raced loads and loads of porkas and never lossed a battle, they are like a saxo vtr to a scooby.
ooh also bullied peccy outta the way in my supra on low boost :-) ROTFPMSL
on another note supra standard 0-60 time is 3.9 Seconds so I can't see the 0-100 time being that long as the supra is a barge to 60 and only lights up at 60, me scooby quicker of the mark
