Any body see this police chase?oldham
Oldham Evening Chronicle - Friday, 24 September, 2004
Driver quizzed after crash
A HIGH-POWERED sports car being tracked by police through Oldham streets reached speeds of up to 70mph before smashing into four parked cars.
The driver fled the crash in New Earth Street, off Lees Road, early this morning, leaving behind a woman passenger who had suffered minor injuries.
The incident began shortly after 2am when the speeding £20,000 Subaru Impreza, which had not been stolen, refused to stop for police in Lees Road.
As it sped through Clarksfield, the driver switched off the lights and it was clocked at 65 mph.
The Greater Manchester Police plane was used to track the vehicle throughout the incident.
The front tyre of the Subaru was blown in Moorhey Street and it eventually crashed into the parked cars.
Insp Terry Barnett, of Oldham Police, said: “When the vehicle eventually came to a halt the driver got out and ran away. He was arrested some time afterwards a short distance from where the car stopped. The girl friend, who sustained minor injuries, was still in the vehicle.”
Today a 27-year-old Oldham man was being questioned at Oldham police station about the incident.

Just wondered if anybody knew anything about this or seen the chase.
