Saw a couple in convey leaving Newquay (both waved) - one was a late version blue bug-eye, the other a silver classic. Also got a big thumbs up from a white R34 Skyline!

What’s it like these days? Not been for about 3-4 years as it was silly busy, lack of organisation/victim of its own success more than anything else. I had heard they have spent some money on the Trevelgue site though....any better?
I was down there with four friends, but I left my scooby at home. We all like the old school VW's. One of the four has a 74 beetle with a legacy turbo engine. It was supposed to be ready for this year but there is a hickup with the brakes, won't be long though!!
It is now full of the max power brigade, didn't really enjoy it this year and doubt I will be going again. The subaru's I saw were all being driven like they were stole, to the point where one of my friends said sell your scooby so your not associated with it anymore.

I went in an OLD OLD (split rear screen) beetle the first year I went - NEVER again!
We had a minor fire under the back seat (that I was sitting on
) in the petrol station less than a mile into the journey! Wiring apparently....
Made it to the M3/A303 before she died. Green flag towed us there and the AA towed us home lol. All of the petrol kitty was refunded though
Damn those chavs!

We didn't go this year, mainly because of the max power factor
The other half has a 73 beetle, and we usualy go down for a few days.
Can't beleive they've come along to **** it all up. Newquay used to be ace, went there a few times a year - but these days there's yobs fighting etc and ****-******* walking about in gangs.
