hehe - nice one!
Reminds me of a Zero-Yon battle I had with a 993 Porker on a rain-lashed A580 (East Lancs) a few weeks ago...

"Sorry Mr Doctor/Dentist or whatever you are, you just dont have the grip!! (or at least you need more practice at dragging)"

a new porsche 911 turbo would eat you for breakfast, I'm interested how he wheel spun it bearing in mind it has one of the most advanced 4WD on a production car today.

he said it was

your new 911 Turbo
and its permanent AWD AFAIK

The 911 Turbo is only available with permanent all-wheel drive. This proven technology delivers optimum traction, with obvious benefits in terms of both safety and driving dynamics.

Arrr yes i must have been wrong - maybe the spinning wheels on the wet tarmac were me pulling open another can of Becs, and his trying to keep up all over the road was him reading a magazine while driving - arrr thats it -

Personal note:Must remember, never post in forums as everyones an expert...and unless we have movie evidence it ddint happen. DOM - remember when you took the 360 mondona - did you film it???:-)

Sigh...classic...

Look at the figures, then wonder why people think you're dreaming.

He wasn't trying or he was a crap driver, get a grip.

mmm interesting reading - I have driven an older Porsche 911 Turbo (late 70's) and to be honest I don't think there is much difference between it in performance terms 0-60 and my JDM Impreza (slightly modified).

The major difference I find is that the Impreza is a damn sight easier to keep between the ditches - although admittedly maybe Porsche have improved the handling since then.

Interesting to hear they have 4 wheel drive now - maybe I could drive one now and actually point it in the direction I want to go when its wet!!!!

If he wasn't trying then he's a poor driver and as for spinning at lights he did...What can i say??? Eitherway dont really care???

I drive a version 5 type r and it will eat most.

That bloke must have been a crap driver since yours would not annihilate his porsche turbo.

both fairly evenly matched up to 60

0-60 times on an RA arent that much apart from a 911 turbo and if the RA launches well and the porche driver didnt expect to have to beast his car as hard the RA will get the lead and after that who cares

jon coffey you are a **** m8,just have a look at the spec on the porkers,0-60 4.2secs....there are plenty of modded scoobs out there that can get the same sort of times,im not sayin that the scoob is a faster car, kane was just making the point it happened to him whilst showing a buyer his motor...we all know the qualities of the 911,i just think people should read the start of these threads before they start calling people bull-shi**ers.things like this happen all the time, and you will find that that most porsche drivers cant drive such pukka motors and thats why it makes these threads all the more funny to all us scooby enthusiasts

So all Impreza drivers are great drivers and Porsche drivers are crap ?

Sad Impreza drivers deluding themselves that their rice rockets can whip a 911 Turbo is embarrassing, it is no different than a 1.3 Nova driver saying he thrashed an Impreza away from the lights.

'Sad Impreza Turbo Reading' should be the title here I think.

Cool

At the end off the day does it really matter which is faster or slower. And as for no scooby beating a 911 turbo well thats fine but i bet it`s not a massive difference in performance. And how much is a new 911 turbo and how much is a new Scoob. And does the difference in performance warrant the extra money. I know what i`d go for every time and it ain`t a 911 turbo.

Unhappy

willgill - ever been in one? Thought not!
With that much power it will still spin all 4 wheels if you just rev it up and dump the clutch.
- The traction control limits the worst of this - but it can be switched off.

Just for reference - what do you drive?

@motorsportnicko,

911 turbo or an impreza, and you chose the latter, LOL, I love my impreza but would set fire to it in a second if it meant me getting a 911 turbo.

I honestly missed the point when upon buying my car someone came up and pumped my brain full of hallucinogenic drugs which left me under the impression that imprezas have the ability to beat any car ever made.

Seriously sad guys, you drive cheap but quick japanese sports cars (as do I) they are not and never will be in the same league as a 911 turbo hence there being nearly £80,000 difference in price.

Get over your egos please

Madmark

I drive an impreza with a large amount of mods (far too much its very addictive) and a 330ci and yes I've been in one and at no point did I even consider my impreza was quicker, in a straight line I doubt my GZ TT supra was either.

0-60 there wouldn't be a noticeable amount in it, even if the porker was trying which he probably wasn't at the first time of asking. I have "beaten" many a quicker car in my Golf TDi, by being ready when the lights change. So damn what? It doesn't make the Golf faster than a Merc or whatever, and it doesn't mean I'm a better driver.
