My wife reckons she "burnt two lads in a Scooby off" near Washington.......

And yes....she did say BURNT!!!!! Not BLEW!!!!!

She was driving my green wagon with EQUICAM.CO.UK graphics in the back window!!

Lads!!!

Not sure exactly what you are getting at?? The mix up of words, or the fact that she apparently overtook another Scoob???

It was my wife........I was nowhere near at the time!!!!
I think she just likes to let me know that she thrashes my car while I'm away......cats and mice stuff....you know!!

I'm just glad she wasn't in her 1 litre Micra, coz then I'd have been really upset for the Scooby driver!!

Maybe the mixup of words... but the emphasis on PROUDLY 'Burnin' off some other Scooby driver makes me immediately think of '50 through a 30' and the odd patronising wave as guys are baited to 'race'.

This may not have been the case... it's just that these things are bound to be conjured up with that type of post...

Now what we're about... enjoying the car and its performance safely is one thing... 'max powering' people into submission is another..

Maybe I just got out of bed the wrong side this morning?

I've spoken to my wife.......

To clarify

Dual carriageway
70mph speed limit
Clear, fine weather
Not much traffic
Following a Scoob off a roundabout
Go to overtake as Scoob wasn't going very fast
As she pulled out, other scoob put it's foot down "a bit"
In response, she put her foot down "a bit more"
Overtook said Scoob and lads gave her a "wave" as she passed
She gave an acknowledgement to the lads and carried on her way
The other Scoob didn't race or chase and she didn't want it to!!

No "Max Powering" as she wasn't driving a Nova/Corsa/Saxo 1.1 which is done up to look like a GSI/SXI/VTS!!

She used the term "burnt off" as a description of an overtaking process at normal driving speeds. She actually added "f*#kin' hell ...I was only having a laugh!!!!"

Hope this satisfies people that might easily misconstrue her terminology and twist it into some sort of boy racer speak!!

Cheers,

Marty
