Was it you?
I was driving from Bromsgrove toward Worcester last night at about 9.30pm, so funnily enough it was quite dark.
I ended up with a metallic grey XR2i, foglights ablaze, trying to works it way up my SS backbox.
I was pootling along in a 40 zone, shaking my head in disbelief at Johnny Kn0bber - He's still wearing his "kewl" shades. !!
Suffice to say, when a de-restricted section appeared I left him reeling in my wake...He took a while to catch me up. I dunno if he couldn't overtake the lorry that I had coz:
a) He was so close all he could see was "Wide Load".
b) His shades were giving him problems
c) His knuckles were pressing against the brake pedal.
At least he gave me some respectful distance after that.
What a total cucking funt...

I'm with you, Chiark...
I would have used the headlight washer trick, but I'd just cleaned & Polished the car, and we weren't really going quick enough for it to work properly...
Hey-ho.

A sudden thump on the brakes works well too.
Makes their @rses fall out big time
or just drive slower and slower and slower and as they pull alongside you, floor it. Then keep alongside them exactly level until a large juggernaut or similar comes the other way and takes them out!
If they have to back off and tuck in behind you they'll feel like a proper chimp.
It's better to ignore these To55ers altogether, but sometimes.......

Rich, if they had a head-on, could you deal with that on your conscience?
If not that, what if the truck brakes hard and fishtails/jack-knifes/has someone in the back of him?
I did do this once, but now take a more relaxed attitude. "Ok, so you overtook me whilst I was sticking to the speed limits. Big deal" gets me by
Not trying to preach, but someone once pointed out the consequences to me and it made me think.
Nick.

Nick,
I was actually joking about the Juggernaut bit
I would never advocate endangering anyone else on the road and I apologise if I created the impression that I was serious.
I was just trying to raise a smile for someone who seemed Pi**ed off with some muppet driver.

I use to do the touch brakes trick, even the headlight wash which is still good but now i just slow right down and P155 em off!! then floor it so it makes him look like a fool after that im not bothered cos all the cars behind him are beeping their horns at him and not me!
But you still get em doing it, dont they know that a 100bhp difference is a lot???? especially that jerk on the M60 last week who thought his bmw 318 ci would be nice 3 inches off me back bumper, oh well showed him what slow traffic was as the 2 cars in front were going slowly i was just going slower

I saw an LED display thingumajig in "The Gadget Shop" on Brum the other day. It is about 18-inches wide and a couple of inches high, and can fit on your parcel shelf. It comes with a remote control to program and activate it.
Even though it was GBP99-ish, i was _sooo_ tempted to buy one. I would then program it with such essentials as "back off dork", "your rear fog lamps are on", "lane one is empty" (plus "are you a Kn0b in an XR2i"!!!).
I am still very tempted (and i will be popping into Brum tomorrow!).
