Question

I can't believe it, I really can't! i live just out of Skipton and I honestly can't believe the number of people who go through it, know about it and have heard about the scooby police!

There's nothing here, what are you people doing?

NO WAY! Hi Sal, this is exactly what I mean! Wherever I go if I mention Skipton someone says " oh I've been there" Or " I used to live there" it's uncanny!

I live in Bradley, a little village about two miles from Skipton

Bob, I met you at York, I had the Black WRX with the video camera in the back. I've been pulled by the marked scoob on my way back from Preston to Harrogate. He was sat by a roundabout near the Skipton bypass before you get to Embsay. My boss and another collegue both live around there and have seen both the marked and unmarked ones on that stretch of road a few times. The marked one followed me (very closely ) until I got to the Addingham turn off when I pulled in to find out what he wanted as I was getting a bit peeved off with him sat on my tail. I know a couple of others have had the same problem on this road so be careful out there

See you at NE5 anyway

Charlie, I work at Skipton ford and we look after the Scoobs! I've had the pleasure of road testing one of the stickerd up ones! There are three marked and one DBM un marked.

I remember seeing your car at york, did we actually speak? I'll make a point of looking for you at NM5

regards, bob

I'm originally a Bolton Abbey lad....so know Skipton really well! ..

Also have a couple of M8s that live in Bradley...so you might see me around the village from time to time.

RRe Plod, as I think you already know I was stopped on the By-pass last year...basically just so they could have a wee gander at it

Catch ya later

Hi Bob,

I used to work in Skipton until 3 months ago. On Otley Street (just down from the police station) so I got to see quite alot of the Scoobies.... strange but the unmarked DMB never seemed to wave back .

Still go back from time to time, so you might see me around.

Cheers

Cheers Steve - might be of interest I don't push it in residential areas anyway, but it's worth knowing your "enemy".

I wonder where he patrols in that thing - M62? Or is it a joyrider special (that's Bradford for you )

Cheers,

Steve

Craig.Yes, there was an Escort cossie.

Rum, I know Bolton Abbey quite well, many a fine BBQ there, I'll keep an eye out for you in the village, You'll probably see my car near the shop.

Hanslow, North Yorks, nr Bradford sort of! There are some nice driving roads, a lot of plod though!

Mojo, I presume you don't work in Skippy any more then? Are you local?

Bob, you know I know it

I was there again yesterday with the bird. We go quite a lot as it is relaxing to stroll round and have a few pints in the long pub (Black Horse??). Always a good few Scoobs and other performance vehicles to look at as well

I always look out for your motor but haven't seen it yet.

I also used to go out there on the beers quite a bit on a Friday - spent many an hour throwing up in After Dark

DW

PS Will mail you tomorrow regarding NM5.

Cool

Bob,

No, I don't work there anymore. Got a new job in Harrogate. Still got a lot of ex-work mates, so I tend to pop across quite a lot (any excuse ).

I live just outside Leeds, but have always liked the roads round Skippo, Harrogate etc.
One of the main reasons I bought the Scooby.

Did Skippo police sell the Cossie in the end then?

I'll keep a look out for ya.

Cheers

Dreamer, Don't talk about the After Dark to me grrr LOL They won't let me in with my CAT shoes on, they say that they're sportswear! Anyway on my last attempt I demanded to see the manager and finished up telling him I thought of him and his club!!

I can't say I've ever spotted you but I should have an idea of what to look for after the weekend!

Mojo, I believe the Cossie was chopped in when they changed to scoobies, they changed from Escorts to Focus's at the same time.I've always found it odd that they should go from one Cossie and a V6 mondeo to FOUR scoobies?

You're right about the Harrogate road, I worked at Rhydding Hyundai in Harrogate untill it went belly up!

Bob I use to be up around Skipton all the time as it seems to be the center of the universe for rallying I also had friends who like in Burnley, Rimington, Clithero and Barnoldswick. I also had a massive car accident up there when a 300 year old tree blew on top of my car in storms and I was doing 50 MPH, it made the second page of the Lancashire Evening Post about 5 to 6 years ago now though.

Darren.

Skipton ~ yeah go there quite a bit.
Not all that far from my parents...
Only 1/2 hour South of where they live.

Great Scooby country....
Obviously in Winter, when tourist traffic is lower.

Bob,

I live in Keighley and I got my scoob imported (UK Spec) by MMC in Skipton.

I sometimes go to Skipton to take my sister to or from work as she works at Sunwin Travel.

I was in After Dark the other week and they let me in with CAT BOOTS on! Unfortunenately I got separated from my friends and went to get a Taxi on my own and they quoted £14.50 to Keighley. I wasn't paying that kind of money so out of principle I walked home 10 miles.

If I'm passing and I see your car I'll give you a wave.

Damian.

Darren, unlucky with the tree matey!

Spen, ya nutta, I'm knackered if I walk back to Bradley, that's only two miles top! I know Will and Kate Midgley from MMC, I'll probably get them to source me a scoob when I get my act together!

Hi Bob,

I'm not knackered but my knees felt it!

I am pleased with my scoob from MMC especially after reading on this bulletin board of people paying £90 labour for fitting a downpipe. It cost me £108 for a, 7,500 mile service, Downpipe and mid-section fitting! It also gives you confidence when you know the mechanic has a scoob himself and he's had a tinker or two with it.

Damian.

Settle is just a nightmare now with speed "humps" through town centre, and 20 MPH zones everywhere.

Even out towards Horton-in-Ribblesdale is now 30 / 40 zone. Used to be fantastic roads.
