Is it wise to jet wash your engine??

My engine looks well dirty is it wise to jet wash it.

Colin - I do mine fairly frequently
Just rememeber to put a bag over the alarm housing and dont jet the intercooler - the fins will bend
I have used mark underwoods multiclean before which is very good, but when run out I have used autoglym engine cleaner and then their rubber preserver which gives it an excellent shine.
Pop over if you want a hand - i have all the stuff here ... did mine yesterday and looks very good.
