Embarresed to own a Subaru
#1
Today I had my first experience of a tw*t in an Impreza, who felt the need to show me and all of the other motorists during rush hour, how quickly he could accelerate, brake, swerve through traffic, undertake and generally drive like an ****. If this sounds like you, (P-reg DBM Saloon - Ashborne Rd, Derby around 5:30) I was not impressed by the psst of your dump valve, neither were any ladies in the vacinity, who will not be jumping into bed with you. Yes, your car is fast - so is mine, but perhaps some restraint should be used before you kill yourself, or somebody else. Let's hope the police remove your licence before either happen.
Bloody makes me mad I tell ya

Yeah, but you expect it from certain vehicles I've just never seen a scoob being driven with such disregard for life, I was stunned.
Of course, I also don't own a vectra or a mundano.

Where abouts on Ashbourne have to agree with steve tanking down ashbourne road at 5:30 would be nigh impossible.
Unless you mean ashbourne Rd out of Derby from a38 island onwards

dan4 - Get a grip. I was 'avin la larf.
Also, I dont think hair colour = a race. Its a bit more complicated than that. Otherwise being tall, fat, thin, curly or short sighted would also be a race.

oh i see it is two lanes that way in to derby and to be honest i have done the same trick of taking the outside lane and dodging back in to go up the a52 but i never cut anyone up or even need to break the speed limit.
There is often a bus or lorry on the inside at the seconmd set of lights and you dont have to be michael shumacher to round the next bend ahead of the rest of the traffic.
still i wasnt there so i cant judge

I AGREE WITH BIG GINGE...I may be wrong but the reason you people don't is probably that most of you on this forum are the type of idiots that drive as the bloke has described.
I too am embarrased to own, what is now no more than a big Vauxhall Corsa.
Lets all slow down and drive sensibly.

I also agree - enjoying the performance and handling doesn't mean having to drive like a tw@t. I'm sure we've all had our moments - doesn't mean we want to brag about them. I find it hard to believe anyone has replied showing support for this fool, or given a hard time to Big Ginge or anyone else standing up for his point of view - you're idiots.

I went on on a big Subaru meet once and was digusted at the immature behaviour of some of the people who were driving at motorway speeds through the streets of Hemel Hempstead. Now if it had been a courty road with little traffic and good visibility then hell go for it , but not in an urban area.
You just don't expect to see people behaving like morons doing it in a Scoob as its very rare.
Shame.

Lets all slow down and drive sensibly.
Anyway, define sensible. We all do things we think are sensible until we stop and analyse our actions.
I can admit I occasionally drive like a tit, and I'm 100% sure that everyone with a driving licence does as well so quit being so high and mighty and concentrate on improving your own skills rather than bemoan lack of skills in others.
Thus endeth the lesson...
