Also saw an unmarked bike (dark red Honda "Pan-european" Style) around Horsham the other day. Had pulled some guy in a Galaxy down the road from me!!!

close...dark blue mica!
it looked standard - mid level rear spoiler, etc. flip-up sign in rear window gave it away, along with grumpy-looking / epilet wearing pig in driving seat!!

My Auntie who is completely not into cars spotted my MY00 a few years ago, and said an Impreza Turbo, they are fast aren't they ? I replied they were, she spotted the bonnet scoop and vents. I asked her how she knew and she said that CID branches in and around Bristol had a few. It wouldn't surprise me if a few other forces had some. I think a couple of the Bristol cars, are the gun cars

Most of the unusual cars possessed by the old bill are given to them by the manufacturers.
It makes a good advert for Subaru or who ever to have the police in their cars as it will clearly promote them. The main dealer will service them usually and most police cars are standard as bought by you and I. In the main brakes maybe up-rated or certain security measures fitted. One force has an EVO, Porsche, Jaguar you name it they all have cars we would like to own.
The Scoobys are about the same price as a large V6 fitted Vauxhall or whatever they normally drive. So you can see it makes perfect sence.
If yours or my pride a joy is being screamed by some little slag and the tracker you paid 400 quid is bleeping away you don’t expect the old bill to be in some run of the mill car trying to keep up, with no hope in hell of catching them.
Truth being that it would be the M3 Scoob plus the helicopter trying to get the driver of your stolen motor.
(Saw this on M3 last week. Chap in Merc handcuffed on hard shoulder with old bill everywhere and helicopter)
Also look at it this way we know how good the Scoob is, so it isn’t rocket science to figure out the criminals know too.
The old bill ain’t ever going to wave at you unless you are 5 years old.
Lighten up stop being so sour. I`d love to have 8 hours of Scooby driving at someone else’s expense.

i knew it wasn't noramal what i saw on Sunday 4am on M1 going south. Imagine a empty motorway, a huge jeep (Toyota Discovery ?) driving in the fast lane, just in front of it a Merc in the middle lane and right behind the jeep, in the middle lane a scoob.
Those two looked like a escort cars and all three going WAY over 100mph.
The scoob was DBM with HKS back box (loud) with plate M16 ***.
Had a feeling not to go with them ...

Police scoobs are nothing new.
Humberside have ones in the Police livery.
I even got a wave from them as they passed me (69mph at the time as I saw them coming)!

sussex police do not have any marked or unmakred scoobs. However, several traffics guys own personal ones cos they get bl**dy cheap insruance.
I understand that the last time they got in a marked demo scoob the Chief Constable at the time wouldn't allow them to take it out.
their quickest are probably the volvos & bmw's, all traffic with full battenburg (can't spell that), but they cannot contend with a wel driven scoob, but you won't get away easily cos they're well equipped and pretty good drivers.
most of them are okay, some, as in all jobs, aren't.

Well the last chief contstable of Sussex spent a lot of his time sorting out disputes between his own daughter and his offices, and of course defending his Officers after they shot some unarmed chap!
Perhaps he couldn't cope with the thought of his officers causing chaos in a Scoob!
