Default swap my scooby for something smaller

unfortunately due to redundancy and my new crappy wage i have to let my scooby go , ideally i would like to swap for something a lot cheaper to run and insure but still have some fun so i have a list of cars i would take as a swap, some of them would have to be some cash my way also, the list is not definative so if you have something else in mind give me a try.

citroen c2 gt, vtr, vts, saxo vts
diahatsu copen, yrv turbo, sirion rally 2
fiat panda 100hp
ford sport ka, fiesta st
mazda mx5 1.8
mitsubishi colt czt
smart roadster
suzuki ignis sport, swift sport
toyota mr2 softop
volkswagon lupo gti, tdi

any cars you want to swap will have to be in good condition with at least some recent history and a definate timing belt change as i have no money to spend on repairs.

my scooby spec
mot till feb16th 2011
no tax currently sorn
95wrx wagon import
91000 on the clock but some of this is kms
406 silver
original scooby matts
i bought the car in june 09 and it went straght into scoobyclinic for the following work
gearbox and diff oil replaced
coolant replaced
sparkplugs replaced
fuel filter replaced
oil and filter change
front crank seal replaced
cambelt and gasket replaced
pas and alt belts replaced
new shocks all round
rocker cover gasket replaced
underseal
4 wheel geom setup
brake fluid change

uprated parts
clear indicators front and side
17" tsw alloys, good tyres but budget make (original wheels included)
super pro uprated droplinks front and rear
4 pot conversion on the front with new discs and pads
braided hoses all round
whiteline rear anti roll bar
walbro fuel pump
simota panel filter
sti front upper strut brace
recon td05 turbo
ecu chip to map for uk fuel/air bought from scoobynet
now running 1.1 bar
boost guage
aluminium gear surround
pedal exensions
uprated speakers all round
last time on the rolling road she ran 224 bhp and 260lb/ft torque (this was on 0.9 bar so will be more now)

she is in great condition for age and i would prefer not to let her go but really cant afford to run her anymore, in total buying sorting and modding she owes me a good 5.5k.

only bad parts i can put about this car is a small amount of bubbling on the rear arch, small dent low down on driver side door, general age related small chips.

no service history before i owned the car but the previous owner was a mechanic, mots from feb 17th 07 at 76562 miles, feb 13th 2008 at 81692 miles, feb 12th 2009 at 85294 miles and jan 23rd 2010 at 90493 miles, (no advisorys)

i wont be breaking the car, its too good for that, to be honest i wasnt really looking for a lupo sport as i have an arosa sport with nearly the same spec, i could be interested but would want a couple of grand my way aswell.

as above no way it's worth 4.5k i'm sorry to say not even the equiv saloon is worth that

i'd do a bit of research bud i think you will find the true value at around the 1.5k mark if your lucky

it's your car at the end of the day though good luck with the sale might be worth considering taking it off the road till you sort yourself another job then you can always use it later

really? perhaps if you wanted to buy a wrx as standard then yes you would pay that, then you would have to spend a lot on sorting out all the probs and things that need changing like i did, i am not selling it i am looking for a swap, my car would kick the sh*t out of anything on my wanted list, as for standard this has the power of an sti of the same age and many uprated parts that you clearly did not read the description, so feel free to buy your £1.5k wrx mine is way better.

oh and a lupo sport to me is worth 1.5k thats what my arosa is worth and its the same car without the vw badge and better looking, everyones entitled to there opinion but i bought it for 2k and have spent at least 3.5 sorting and improving, this is why its up for swap not sale.

this is true

i think in all honesty if it was at all justified at that price wanted it would need to be 100% origional and mint shame someone has painted bits of the interior white, painted calipers, changed the wheels and has a damaged drivers seat

we all like to put a value to our cars that we personally think they are worth, but the majority of the time, they are nowhere near the actuall value.....£2K tops on a good day with someone who's drooling overtakes their ability to think

it looks a fairly tidy example to be fair mate but as said you dont get back the value of the mods and for a wrx wagon on an m plate nobody in there right mind would look twice at it with a 4.5k price tag well maybe they would look twice but only to check they had read the price correctly in pure shock

now a luppo is much more wanted and not as ugly as a seat Arsa so how do you work out one is worth £1500? Seat badge = no sale VW badge = lots of sales how can you posibly say a lupo sport is worth the same as a arsa? year on year = double price Vw over seat

ahhh bollox just SCRAPED my 1995 standard (appart from ss exhaust) nearly mint Wagon Wrx SA as it had a dent in the door and the engine was worth more than the car (£800)

maybe i should have just swaped it for a focus St with a couple of grand my way as a St is only worth £800 to me as its the same car as a 1.4 focus just with a badge

MATE WHAT PLANNET ARE YOU LIVING ON???

BTW it doesnt matter what you spend on it....Im restoring a 1994 Fireblade that I have had for 12 years, going to spend about £3K or more restoring it, but know that it's only ever in todays market going to be worth £2.5K.

Chucking a load of money at something doesnt put the value up...I have spent a shedfull on the Scoob in the 18months I have owned it, but it's value will have gone down not up..!!!! perhaps not dropped as steeply as one in standard form, but still less than I paid for it...

Wake up and smell the coffee fella

Dont think anyone can help this bloke he is beyond it! love the way he has spent loads of money on it but cant afford to tax it or service a new car!

I do like the lupo sports onlybing worth £1500 and wanting 2k on top in px cos thats what his seat is worth

Funny thing is a luppo is worth twice what that scoobys worth

I cannot be bother to read all the posts, but im basically after a car for under 2.5k that i can mess with, but and having read you post heading and looking at the photos prior to your repost at 4.5k I was thinking of offering you my 1999 1.25 zetec fiesta and a few hundered quid....... lol. Anyway good luck with the sale, if you get anywhere near 1800 for it id be very surpised and you should be very pleased.

I put 5k into my last car, and sold the car for 6.5k (book price 4.5 - 7k), I never expected to get my money back for the new engine, gearbox, new turbo, new injectors, new tmic, new exhaust etc etc. It helped the sale and maybe got me an extra grand on the sale. but you can not claim for all the fuel and Oil you have put in it over the last year!!
