Can any one help?

My sti version 4 on 1998 is jumping in and out of power. It's as if a lead has broken down. It's especially bad when in 5th at say 3000 revs and you put your foot down. It pulls, then drops out and then back in and so on. It also seems to vibrate a bit.

I've recently bought a new coil pack, leads (performanceleads.co.uk) spark plugs (NGK 7's), new standard air filter and a new radiator. After the radiator was fitted the over flow valve snapped off. This has now been repaired. At the say time i had a hayward and scott decat pipe fitted

I have a standard air filter and no after market dump valve.

It happens in every gear with the power coming in and then going and then coming back. Originally thought it was the wheels spinning but did the same today on a dry day.

Any ideas i'd be very greatful.

limp mode / boost cut mate my v3 has a v4 ecu and engine and it done the same at 1 point , u need to do a diagnostics / check engine light connector test and see what problems u have

hello mate i have a v4 98 uk and had exactly the same problem it turned out to be my 2 port boost solenoid playing up (diagnosed by mapping session with jgm). luckily i picked up a 3 port from on here and simon (jolly green monster) swapped them over when changing my ecu and mapping and problem solved.
