UK car? engine will be a phase 1, if its a uk car then it will have a TD05 turbo if you want the turbo also? if its a JDM then it will have a TD04 turbo.
You may be better rebuilding if you want reliability

hi Tony, yeh uk car mate.

 

i have an engine from 1996 wrx , head gaskets will need doing but easy while out will sell for 275


still runs now but pressurizing the cooling system

 

cheers wayne, but im going to re-ring my pistions as its cheaper for me to do that, i was looking at it all wrong, i hhave two engine one with the bottom end knocking ( in my car) and was given one that smokes suspected rings gone i was going to remove the crank replace bearing etc but all i need to do realy is to re ring the pistons and use my heads as it could of been the valves making it smoke. thanks for you post though.
