Do not buy another Plastic one, they are kak and will only rupture again..
I will also only recommend a new one even in the metal/ally type.

There is a chap on e-bay that sells them Brand new for not much more money than what used ones seem to go for....

Actually here is the link 'click click'

I bought one from him not too long ago and it's been grand.......
It's also a straight fit from the ole plastic kak type!

I would of shown a photo of it fitted but Scoobynet's daft policy does not allow photos easily posted in the most important section!

Taken from advert on Ebay:

SUBARU IMPREZA/WRX/STI RADIATOR WATER BOTTLE ALLUMINIUM

BRAND NEW IN BOX

GENUINE PART

THIS FIT MODELS 1997-2001, AND CAN BE MODIFIED TO FIT EARLY MODELS 1993-1996
GOOD LUCK & HAPPY BIDDING

WReX1990. You said it was a straight fit but it does say in the advert (high-lighted) that it would need modding!

Its just that I too have my eye out for one of these, but not sure as to what to believe

AFAIK its not a straight bolt on fit. I think you have to fabricate two brackets to hold it to the inlet manifold. Same sort of ideas as spacers for it.

Certainly can't bolt the new age syle tank on a classic manifold. You'll have to fabricate some form of bracketry as sudjested. Used alloy sheet for mine.

Not to clear but heres a shot of one i did for my wagon some years ago.

Oh should have said look carefully there is an additional bracket at the bottom of the tank to give it that bit more support.

how do you insert a Photo like you have done
1/ Find a hoist to for your photograph. ie photobucket.
2/ select said photo
3/ Copy image address [img] [/img]
4/ Look for the little symbol on your new thread/reply to thread that looks like an envelope and has a picture of a mountain
5/ Select it
6/ A box will open up top l/h side it will have http// in it i tend to delet this.
7/ paste that [img] [/img] address you coped earlier into.
8/ Attach it to your thread or your reply.
9/ preview it if you like prior to sending it
10/ job done.
