I'm just curious to know what the symptoms are, I might be wrong but I would not think you would damage a big end by over filling it!? I bet it smoked though?

Something strange about that, was it maybe knocking before it was filled with oil? Scoobies do not like standing a long time and then being started, without being primed up again, as they do lose all the oil in the system when they stand. The only other thing I can think of is that because its a flat engine, the oil may have leaked past the pistons and rings, and caused an hydraulic lock up between the piston and the head.
Where about are you?
Its sometimes better to fix what you got than to buy something second hand.
I am open to correction on all of this.
