A/C Compressor clutch cannot find one
I have an 1997 Legacy Outback Wagon with the dreaded 2.5l motor and I have a bad bearing in the compressor clutch. It should be a lot easier to replace the clutch unit than the entire compressor (and cheaper too) but I cannot find one new, used or aftermarket. Can anybody tell me where to get one or alternatively has anyone replaced the bearing in the clutch unit? Looks like the unit comes off by immobilizing the unit with a oil filter wrench or other clamp then removing the bolt on the front center. Has anybody tried this???
If anybody wants a chuckle I heard this noise in the front of my engine and right away knew it was the alternator. After replacing the alternator I realized I was wrong. It is the clutch on the A/C Moral, always use the stethoscope. Get cocky and it costs you.

Hi
I hope to avoid screwing with the refrigerant and hoses so I'll keep trying to find the clutch unit for now. If I can't find one I'll PM you though. Its a good offer.
