Get the TY number which is on a sticker on the gearbox. You need TY752 or preferably TY754. VN denotes UK or European.
VB is a Jap box.
Give me the reference number and I will check the ratios.
On the VIN plate on the passenger side strut turret you will also have the TY number repeated at Transmission. However, you can only use the number from the VIN plate if you are confident the car has not had a gearbox transplant previously.

You are being given duff advice.
The TY 754 gearbox is stronger than the earlier TY752 gearbox.
Like I said above, if you want help, check the TY # on the VIN plate and then on the sticker on the top side of the g/box bell housing to ensure they correspond.
"Give me the reference number and I will check the ratios."
I need the whole TY752VN??? # so I can identify the box.
If you can get a TY754 it will fit ok and as it is stronger you will not have to repeat this excercise in the future or it makes the car more attractive to the next purchaser. However the ratios must be checked for compatability.
