I wish you luck, I searched for ages! I did eventually get some though (off a Legacy GTB) If you want some early WRX heads I still have mine (though they need new hydraulic tappets!)

The heads are nearly on (after 3 months) The heads I got were not quite complete (one valve, spring and cap missing, no cam wheels) The valve and spring were easily replaced, the valve spring cap may be here in the next couple of days. You have to blank off the second turbo oil and water feeds. What engine are using to start with? Mine was a 94 WRX and the inlet mainfold was too short and had to be cut and extended to fit (and adpater plates made). This made the fuel rails too short so they have been modified as well. The cam wheels are different to the early models, so new cam covers were required. The rocker covers are also different, and the oil filler neck is different.
If you are upgrading from an early engine, make sure you get complete heads, that makes life a lot easier, and yes, they are solid lifters!
