I just got rid of my MY97 Five door in met. green.
I was very upset with the trade-in price from the dealer...I only managed 12,800 !!!
The car had covered 41,000 miles with full service history, mint tyres, and a practically new std. exhaust (I had a scoobysport system all the time).
The problem here is that dealers don't give a hoot as to how well you've looked after the car (and lets face it...most of us look after them better than we do ourselves)...they see the are at 'trade-in' value.
My old car is still in the dealers 2 months later for 14,995...and they haven't sold it
I appreciate that you have additional bits...but I wouldn't expect more than 15K...its a real shame. I very nearly stuck with my old car it was that bad.
Cheers
Ian

I stripped my car of the extras and have sold them all privately - my perception was that they didn't add much to the resale value of the car. In some cases they may even lower the value, as some people may interpret the mods as being too 'boy racer'.
I got around £1,000 for my bits and pieces - no way would I have got an extra £1k on the car.
Problem is.... I've still got the car!!!!
