Your Scoob
Hi All,
Been trying for the last 3weeks to get my hands on my first WRX Saloon Scoob, but I'm not having much luck.
Have set my budget at £5K, all in including insurance which is gonna cost me £500. So £4.5K or less for an early WRX I thought there'd be loads knocking around.
Reading thru' the forum it seems to be a buyers market
I've had a few leads, but many have been more than I want to pay. When you remind them of your budget, some of them get annoyed
Some have come near, but immediatley need tax £155, Cambelt Service (Circa£300), Tyres, Mot and other misc expenditure.
So here it is:
Cash waiting: Max(£4500)
Standard car needed, therefore No Bling, Drug dealer alloys, Skyscraper Spoilers, Bodywork damage, Rust, 6" exhausts, Highly-tuned-about-to-blow mega BHP monsters.
Colour: Silver, Black or Blue. No other colours.
No UK turbos.
No Inter-galactic mileages.
Cat1 Security essential. Tracker would be a bonus.
Previous owner needs to be a Nun or Librarian
No Wagons, I repeat, No wagons. Nothing wrong with em' just don't want one.
No clueless owners who have'nt even opened the bonnet.
No importers pretending to be private sellers. I've had enough of paying middle-men over the years so private sales only.
Some sort of service record would be nice.
There must be one or two lurking in somebodys garage they want to turn into a conservatory, house deposit, wedding cake, holiday.............................
As you can gather I'm a bit fussy , but hey you don't ask you don't get I was always told.
Email me off list
Cheers

Hi,
No disrespect intended, but with a budget of £4500 you will be lucky to get a mint/undamaged/no intergalactic miles/non-wagon scoob?
I have mine for sale at the moment & I would accept £5000, but not a penny less.
1993 Saloon, Silver WRX,
71,000 miles on clock of which first 64,000 were kilometers.
Not maxed to the point it looks silly,
Nice car, excellent condition with all receipts since imported in late 2002,
Pm my if interested and I will send photo's.
I am based in Newcastle-upon Tyne
Cheers

I think Ceebee's right. Many WRX's were imported just in the last year or so - so it'll be hard to find one with much service history. And an 'early' WRX for that kind of money is going to be 10 years old so it won't be perfect.
I've got a very nice silver 1996 WRX which I'm kind of trying to sell / kind of trying to fix. It's got a Clifford CAT1 and a Tracker. It's clean and tidy and not messed about with (apart from a low-mileage reconditioned engine fitted a few thousand miles ago). It's ready for a new clutch (and maybe a flywheel) and it has a gearbox problem that needs fixing or replacing - even still, I wouldn't consider less than £4000-£4500 for it.
