I am now desperate for one of these.. for a MY97 Sport. 2L. Please can anyone help me...
i got one from a breakers that will remain nameless. as i don't want to name and shame .. got home. fitted it. to be even worse than the first one. so now over £150 outta pocket i'm not a happy bunny..

Please all i am after is a rear diff ... if anyone knows where there is one... i'd be more then willing to collect to save on postage. i have cash waitin {again}

 

Got a WRX 4.1 rear diff & drive shafts. You'll need to check your gearing to see if it's compatable.

Divvy you should take the one back to the breakers! presumably sold to you in good condition?

 

Ive got a rear diff from my uk turbo unsure what drive it is but presume its 3.9, It was taken out as suspect but was found to be the bearing in the centre diff any way if it is any good to you? you can have it for £50 Ive also got the gearbox sat here just needs rear bearing and putting back together you can have the lot for £100

there is a red 2.0 sport at interpart in daventry with front end damage maybe worth look as is local? think it has bug eye front seats and few other interesting bits?????

Tams i am selling up.. but need the car to be A1 condition before i will advertise... would never let it go with the diff bearing whiningg.. i would feel bad about letting it go..

UK rear diff is 3.545 as the transfer ratio is 1.1:1

I may know of one 3.9 diff available.

The published figure for final reduction (3.545) is incorrect: Tests, and Subaru sources, show that the true figure is 3.9

this was taken from SIDC faq so the diff in my uk turbo is 3.9 or should be.

Darren (morty) your wrong. It is as Paul suggest.

A uk turbo has a 3.9 front with 1.1 to 1 drop gear and a 3.545 rear diff. This means 3.545 x 1.1 equals 3.9, so the front and rear diffs match up due to the drop gear adjustment in the gearbox.

A uk sport uses a 3.9 rear diff, ie 29 teeth on crown wheel and 10 on pinion.

Way back in december i got a 3.9 from a sport for £30, but cant remember where and what they would be now.

Problem you will have now, is that people install JDM 6 speeds need the 3.9 rear diffs, which are only found in JDM cars or sports.
