I was on my way to work when a loud clanging sound started from my engine, so i stoped and had a look under the bonnet and could not see any bits moving about. so i started it back up and it was knocking it t*ts out! so i got the AA out and got em to take me home, he said it sounded like the big ends or the cams knocking.
So i am after a engine,

 

I might have one for you, I've just bought it for my 1999 V WRX & was told it was from a 1998 R.
My Garage couldn't get it to fit...
A Subaru Techy has looked at it an told me that the engine is a phase 3 engine, & I need a phase 5 for my car.
