My good lady wants a bike for her birthday. She's fed up with the buses and wants one to commute into London on.

Does anyone have an impulse-purchase ladies bike sitting around unused? I'm fairly sure that this little phase isn't going to last more than a few weeks and it will soon be sitting unused again so don't want to spend too much on it.....

She's about 5'7" and its needs to a good beginners bike.

Let me know what you've got!

I bought my ex-girlfriend a mountain bike a while ago which she left behind. It has a crossbar so it's not completely a girly bike. She only rode it for about 6 months so it's still got the nobbly bits on the tyres

Let me find some details as I posted it in "For Sale" a few months back

£250.00 mountain bike that was used for only 6 months so it still has the nobbly bits on the tyres. 17" frame, 21 gear gripshift, very light alloy frame & wheels. £100.00 no offers as at this price it's a steal

I can't use it as i'm 6'4"
