Default Hatchback WRX S springs

Hi all.

I've just bought a 2009 WRX S with VERY low rear suspension.

I believe these WRX "S" cars have prodrive suspension. However in my case I think someone has put even lower springs on and it looks awful.

So, I need a set of standard (Prodrive?) WRX springs for my 2009 hatchback.

Are any other springs compatible?

Is just the body different on these cars to their predecessors? Are suspension components transferable?

Sounds like you need something like this.

2pots is the guy you need to speak to on this. Plus he might be able to fix you up with some or point you in the right direction.

AFAIK a Prodrive spring package was not part of Subaru UK's "S" package

However the Subaru parts database lists 2 options for rear springs, one for "no rear spoiler" and one for "with rear spoiler"............which would be confirmed using the VIN of the vehicle in question.

....and to answer your last question the rear suspension changed with the 2008 model Hatch so is different from previous models.

Has it been fitted with aftermarket coilovers??

Wow - fantastic reply thanks very much!

The the car is over at my parents house at the mo and I’m yet to climb underneath. Don’t think it’s on coilovers though.

My car is “with spoiler” and I can PM the vin to you if you’re able to do a full lookup of the part number please.
