Default Lowering springs for my STI 2008 hatchback?

Hi everyone!

I'm thinking of installing some lowering springs on my Impreza STI 2008 hatchback. But it seems quite hard to find any information or re-sellers of lowering springs to this car?

When making a quick search on the eBay I find there's either Tein or Tanabe that is provided.

I think the car is quite soft when having the stock springs, but neither I don't want the ride to be uncomfortable due to the fact that I use it as a daily driver. And we have snow i Sweden for at least 4-5 month a year with icy and bumpy roads...

Camskill have the Tein S-tech that lowering the car 25mm in the front and 20mm in the back, anyone tried Tein?

I would love to see some "before and after pictures" as well with lowering springs installed

Thanks in advance!
// Mattias

Hi Mattias, I don't know anything about aftermarket springs for the hatch, but I know the S-techs are to be avoided, not only on the hatch, but on all Scooby's, starting with the classics. They overlower the Impreza too much. Dynamic camber is lost, grip levels will reduce leading to understeer. You lose almost all the travel of the damper and you will be constantly close to the bumpstop. You say your roads are bumpy, so you will be crashing badly onto the bumpstop all the time. Basically you will enter a world of pain

For bumps, you need suspension travel, lowering by 45mm will reduce that down massively.

Thanks for the answer Bonesetter.

I'd looked at wrong part number at Camskill, the S-tech actually lowering 25 at front, and 20 at the back for the STI.

It seems very hard to find any aftermarket springs at all for the GRB model?

Where can I get them? It's very hard (impossible) to buy parts for Subaru in Sweden...

Thanks!

I've got some white line control springs looking for a new home. They weren't on long at all. I took they off when I changed to a kw varient 3 set up.
The springs were supplied and fitted by Crossroads Subaru. Pm me if you want me to mail you pics.
Thanks

Yes please send me some pictures of the White Line springs mounted on your car.

Can you ship to Sweden?

Best regards,

Hi
Whiteline are well respected in after market suspension. Google them I'm sure they will come up. I haven't got any pics of them on my car I don't think I will look through my pics tomorrow I have got images of the springs showing part numbers I could send tomorrow as can't do it from my phone.
Yeah I could ship but not sure of the cost to be honest.
Thanks
Kev.

The STi is lowered a little anyway, so your figures while being too much, aren't that far off
