I know I have mentioned it several times that I want to sell my Hawkeye STI but the time has definitely come now as my wife and I want to gather up our funds for a deposit on a house.
I have thought long and hard about this and no matter which way I look at it and no matter how much we save, if I also sell the Impreza I can add another £10,000 to our deposit.
So if anybody out there is interested in the car, a 2007 plate Hawkeye STI with 380BHP and 22K on clock. A former Ace Performance Cars Impreza, feel free to make me an offer.
I am open to sensible offers.
Cheers
Dan

From: At home counting pennies!!!
Also drove it myself once quite a few years ago, great piece of kit and well modified, not OTT.
Dan, I am sad to see you are selling up but I really do understand why you have to let it go. Good luck with the sale and the new home mate, hope to see you around again one day driving something exotic

Well, although I am certain that I am selling the car I am hoping that I will not be leaving the Subaru Fold.
My plan is to buy a bug or blob wagon. Something I don't mind abusing as a daily driver.
They are going cheap these days so I will keep a look out for a bargain.
I just need to free up the funds tied into the Hawkeye first.
Show my wife a bit of willing and put a lump of money into the pot for our house deposit.
I went up to see Andy up at Ace Performance Cars last week and he has kindly agreed to sell the car for me so its going there once there is some room. This weekend or next week hopefully.
That's not to say that I won't try and do so myself but my problem is am soooooo busy with work and looking after 3 children. My wife is also back in work full time so we are rushed off our feet.

trust me - its Scooby's for life for me so I will hopefully get a wagon for now.
After that ... I quite fancy a P1.

I defo won't be a stranger.
Ideally I will sell the Hawkeye, pocket the cash but put a little slice aside and wait for the ideally priced Bug or blob wagon to show up in the ad pages.
I have seen them going for as little as £1500-£2000. Pennies nowadays.
I will defo be happy enough in one. Ideal for the family too.

Well, it has taken me over a week to mention it but I sold the car last week to a chap from Hornchurch in Essex.
Withdrawal symtoms are acute but i manage them by examiniing the small ads for my next purchase.

The kettle switch is itching to be turned on.
I have done some interesting stuff with UHW All Wales Veterans Health Services recently. Not clinical but pathway and sign posting.
See you in a bit
Hi Dan, if you don't mind me asking how much did it go for, you can PM if you prefer?
It's just I'm trying to sell my 56 forged hawkeye STI with 48k and getting nowhere with it. So I might have to adjust my price somewhat depending on what a high specced car such as yours went for.

I will make a concerted effort and come down to see you either next week or probably the week after.
Don't let me forget I said this.

Personally I think I just got lucky that Evil Soup knew of a guy on Pistonheads who was thinking of buying another Impreza.
Evil Soup mentioned my post here so the guy took a look.
He saw that other's had vouched for the car so it tipped his balance into agreeing to buy it without viewing.
Peronally I think you should have no problem getting at least what I got for mine (See PM) given that yours is forged.
Sadly its that time of the year when not many people have money to spare.
Hang in there- someone will have it off you.

Presently I am running around a beat up Pug 106 while I look for another Impreza.
There is a few that have caught my eye but because I want a classic this time I am taking my time.

I have had 3 now and whilst I have always spent money on them all I don't regret it.
I am now looking for number 4 which I will no doubt spend even more money on.
But there is nothing else that I care for beyond my cars - well except my wife and kids, but thats different.
I would live in a shed if it meant I had the car I loved. My wife doesnt quite agree alas.
So that is why the hawkeye had to go.Time for a classic this time. Nothing special, just something I can drive withthe enthusiasm i drive my Pug 106.
