Default Progress so far

So here we goe, as you know Gem and I bought Troopers carafter the oil pump unfortunately went on the run over Xmas. After a wait to get the car down to 3 arches the engine was stripped and the extent of the damage was known.
A lot of calls and chats followed with Dean to discuss what was going to be done to get the car back on the road.

We agreed with Dean that the best way to go to was to basically forge the bottom end and up-rate and strengthen all components

92.5mm Mahle Forged Pistons
Manley Steel Con rods
ACL Race Bearings
V9 Nitrated Crank
Arp 11mm Head Studs
Comtec 1mm head gaskets
11mm Modified Oil Pump
Bottom end build kit
New Modine

Plus a load of gaskets and components.

As the pistons were delayed the work was put on hold, but assoon as they were delivered they were sent away with the block to be re-bored, whilst the work on reassembling the crank and the con rods began

Once the block had been re-bored all the parts started tocome together with the crank the 11mm Arp bolts, pistons , gaskets and new oil modine

Next step was to get the modified oil pump fitted

Start to attach the ancil`s and the engine is coming together nicely

And here we go one rebuilt engine ready to go back in the car

The car has been completing the run in miles over the last week and a half all over South and West Wales.
1000 miles has been completed and the car will be going back in tomorrow to have all the fluids, plugs and filter changed, as well as a fuelpump change

Whilst the car was in the garage had a few components sprayed and will be going on the car over the next couple of days

Same turbo for now, it will be up with BRD on the 8th March we`ll see what figure it comes back with and if I`m allowed to put any more power in as it is Gem`s daily driver.

Kev,

Your right there that was the main appeal about the car, and now Dean and Dan have built an engine that matchs the effort and commitment that Ian put into the car.

Gem and I are lucky to have the complete package.

I have no doubt that the both of you are going to be very happy with the car when it is mapped and back to full strength.

Very nice spec indeed should be great when its mapped to its potential. Personally I would go for drivability over big bhp any day

That's because you are getting old now, big BHP is for the young 'uns just like me.

So after another well spent day at 3 arches having the servce and a few other bits sorted and I had the pleasure of driving the car last night for the 1st time on boost .

All I have to say is what an engine pulls right from the work go I only took it to 4k with 0.7 bar of boost and the smile never left my face and I imagine in about 30 mins when Gemma drives the car to work she will have the same grin on her face.

To Dean, Dan and the team at 3 arches, can`t praise you guys enough for the help and support through this build process.

Foglight covers have been fitted and spoiler should be fitted closer to the weekend. Will post pics up when I get the chance.

So after a visit to the wonderful wizard called Bob, both Gem and I are back to the house and still smiling.

Was a bit of a challenge to get the map done as the roads were soaking and the spray was not good. Made my bum go tight as I held the car at 1.0 bar on the road with visability not that good

We came back on all the backrounds to ross and thorugh the tunnels at Monmouth . the car is running really well and glad that we chose both 3 arches and Bob to carry out the work on the car.

When we got back no time to sit down as the car was maybe just a little bit dirty,

So the car has had a nice bath as well and is now nice, shiny and quick
