Default The Future

Now that the Scoob as gone () I can sit back and plan for the future whilst sorting out the Mazda for a bit of fun.

Which direction I go will depend on what I can get my fingers on. Looking about at the current crop of Scoobs, I am still drawn to the 04/05 MY Forester or Legacy again. Those who saw the last Leggy and Foggy I had would agree they where pretty good sleepers. The only fly in the ointment is the price of both models I am looking at. A good FSTi is hitting the +£10k mark and similarly the Legacy GT Spec B JDM's BL/BH Series.

I have seen a few MY 99/00 FSTi's but they are still £8k for a good one and they are rare as hen's teeth as a manual. The older Legacy is nice but I am not a fan of the TT versions (unless I can be convinced otherwise). I have even toyed with the idea of a Tribeca or Outback as an altenative. A fully loaded Tribeca can be had for £8.5k with 40k on the clock!

It'll be a weekender again so the running costs whilst being high should not be too much of a major factor, so a few months of hummimg and arring.

Personally Ian I'd try and find a bog standard Type R, they are so much different to drive to a standard classic! The short ratio box along with the VF28 is just awesome! Although... your Legacy STi was great, you should've kept it

Personally Ian I would opt for another Forester STi similar to the one you had previously, I really liked that car.

I never saw your Legacy but that looked like a nice car as well, nice and stealthy a real Q car.

As for the Tribeca I am sorry but they look like a real design disaster to me, I am not surpised they can be found so cheap personally. I'd also imagine they would be a right pain to sell on or trade in as well.

Super charge the Mazda and buy a cheap run about or s standard sti and don't mess about with them as it only leads to problems

That forrester is stunning, I'd go for another like that myself, you're never gonna pass another one on the road and it'd probably hold its value well.

Foggy for me, A rare car with stunning performance.

I was never really a fan of the Leggy, it seemed to be lacking something with regards to looks

Don't say it Merv please.... It was there but it's alas sold but I would be tempted to contact him to see if the deal went all the way.

I have to say that I would love a Bugeye STi Wagon, especially one in white.

Ian, I have to say that your Forester STi has a lot of road presence and again is a real wolf in sheep's clothing - how much power was yours running?

I agree with Danny that perhaps the Legacy may be a little understated even for a Q car.
