Default sti spoiler fitting!?

hi all,

just had sti spoiler arrive for my wrx (blobeye). Not overly confident on drilling all those extra holes in the boot lid.

Anywhere I could get this done in or around swansea??

this is what i did a few weeks back. i found it easier to find an sti bootlid and just swap over.

there are so many bolts and those push clips on the spoiler it a lot of work and to line them up underneeth the boot, the sti boot has got indents to where the bolts come thorugh so you got room to use a socket/spanner, i dont think the wrx boot have these??

Its fitted!

Made template on paper and then marked holes. Wasn't too much work just needed care whilst drilling.

The tension bars won't lift the boot now as its too heavey, knew this before but not a massive issue since i rarely use the boot anyways.

very happy with the new look

I've got a set of newage STi boot torsion springs which are no longer required and at a very reasonable price.

Very temped on STI torsion springs. They will save my hands on the odd occasion I do go in the boot. Drop me a pm.
Have heard they are a pain to fit, but then was told fitting spoiler would be tricky.

I've only got one quick shot I took after work was done.

Should've taking pics when doing work, but had limited time since started to get dark.

As above but used card from a stationers/art shop, used a small auto centre punch to mark position and start drill (stop slipping). + used clear silicone sealant round all the screw/ dowel holes to prevent water getting in to the boot.

I used some rubber washers on the nuts (between spoiler and bootlid).
Was going to use some silicone, but decided on the rubber washer. I think thats was subaru used for standard spoiler.
