Default any specialists in Wales that can look at a potential boost leak?

drove from London and I seem to have developed a boost leak of some sort and need someone to look at it at very short notice.

I will be around bridgend tomorrow (Monday) to go see the guys at Godspeed to fit my brakes and need somewhere nearby.

the symptoms are that it has no pull (in any gear) and the turbo seemed to be sounding a lot louder than usual on the motorway.

also, have noticed that even with constant pedal pressure, the boost would then tail off for no reason!

help

If you can get to Cardiff then you could try Three Arches Garage, I'm not too sure on garages in the Bridgend area sorry.

I do kinda pass Cardiff but I need to get to bridgend first thing tomorrow to get the Godspeed guys to fit my brakes so I could double back on myself.

if it is a boost leak, what sort of time frame am I looking at go get the thing looked at and fixed?

I have wifi!!

boost problem got looked at and after some testing, ended up being because to the last garage filling up with too much oil! thanks to dean and the other Subaru fella (who's name I've embarrassingly forgotten but is on SN somewhere!) who fitted me in at such short notice.

it now boosts better, a good thing too, black mountain pass would've been no fun having to rag it to get anywhere.

however am still noticing that the boost trails off via the info from the gauge and didn't seem as "on" as it was before. maybe that is simply the hose for the gauge needing to be changed but doesn't seem as it was before.

needing a lot more clutch to be able to move away (forward or reverse) and when lifting off, I get the whoosh sound even if I'm not caining the turbo.

getting there but slowly but maybe needing either a new MAF or non aftermarket induction kit but wouldn't that then need a remap?

New MAF no. Aftermarket induction kit no essential. It might be your turbo actuator getting tired. A simple way to test that is to put a spring across the actuator and take it for a drive. But remember not to blast it to much because you will get very high boost. This will prove or disprove if you actuator needs changing.

I think the tech at three arches already did something similar, he did something to bypass the wastegate i think and took it out for a drive, boosted a whole lot better instantly.

He mentioned that it was unlikely to be the turbo.

Dean and Dan will soon be joined by another ex-CVC techy .
They will be giving the Ka some TLC before it goes for sale this weekend.
