Default Any local Methanol?

Does anyone know where i can source methanol in or around cardiff/S.Wales.

It could work out very economical by picking up in person.

The cheapest i've found a '25 Litre Jerry can' delivered to my door is £30 which is £1.20 a Litre

Cheers
Andrew

Andy, have you modded the fuel system in any way, people have had problems with injector seals as Methanol is quite corrosive.

I have not had the injectors or seals changed. I was under the impression that as long as it does not stay in the cars system too long it should be ok with it being diluted 4:1.

Perhaps i should seek expert advice. Ian, thanks for the heads up

I ran my Subaru on Meth for quite a long time, only time i had a problem was when i left it parked up over the winter with a Meth Mix of 10% left stood in it all winter, the injector seal swelled up causing the engine to flood with fuel and hydraulic lock.
Wouldn't put me off using it again but only now and then on a switchable map not everyday and defo wont leave the car stood for long periods with meth in the fuel.

Those do sound like the golden rules..
1. Only now and then on a meth map
2. Don't leave in the system for any length of time

I'm waiting to hear back from Bob Rawle to see what he has to say on the subject

JDM Newage ECU's can have 2 maps using the MegaROM EcuTek map, I spoke to Bob about it at the end of last year, You can also have 'in gear boost setting' and 'launch control' which uses the rear demist button

I've got a uk bug wrx with a standard ecutek ecu with dual maps....
1. Boosts 1.1 bar
2. Boosts 1.5 bar
As gaz2293 said, foot to the floor on the accelerator pedal and press the rear demister button to switch maps...

Sorry Mark but you don't have dual maps, you have different boost settings - only the JDM ECU's can support Megarom which have dual maps.

I'm sure I could try, but it's usually the skinny ones who can eat for Wales whereas 1 meal is enough for me - I've seen a certain member go up for a roast dinner, and then 2 plates of curry afterwards (I'm not saying who he is but he eats pasties in his truck ).
