Default MOT,failed

So I took the car for an mot today, after having a new engine built,it failed on the emission's and been told its a common thing what with the size on the exhaust, and the fact that the new engine, has only done 10 miles,so he advised to take it for a run and drop it back tomorrow,it passed on everything else, apart from i had an advisory on front pads, and rear drop links....

So stroll on tomorrow morning....Dx

Why would taking it back tomorrow help?

Has it got all the cats in place ?

Just curious, Shaun

Make sure those cats are nice and hot, difficult to do with a new engine in the car. Had problems with mine a few years back as the MOT station is only 5 mins down the road. Since then I take the car for a 30 min spin to get the engine warm enough, that I can put my foot down and warm the cats up.

Exactly can't do that when running the engine in,and you have to stick to 3,000 rpm.

Jarvis told me it`s cos you hardly drive it, and its serviced so often nothing gets dirty inside the engine?? And when you do its like you`ve Miss Daisy in the back.

But I don`t think that lol

It's done 150 miles today, that's more than Jarvis does in about 3 months.

I picked it up from Leominster then a blast down to Brecon, then home.

It's definitely not had Miss Daisy in the back today, if it's raining next Saturday you might see Jarvis's car arriving on a car transporter.

I also did some miles in her and miss daisy couldn't be further away from the truth
It's one of the most balanced cars in terms of power/brakes and suspension I have driven, very nice indeed!!
