My missus has a 59 plate Astra 1.6 design - but I drive it too keep the milage down on the scoob.

I didn't want her to buy it but she insisted, as women do! Anyways, we've agreed to get rid but I dont want to sell or part ex and add money (cant be bothered with the hassle).

So here's the million dollar question;

Can I walk in to a garage and say you have the astra and I want to swap it for a diesal?

It doesn't have to be another astra, I just want to swap it for another car. I do a shed load of travelling and we have a caravan down west (wont be towing), the money i'm chucking in it for fuel is bonkers!

Whats the chances? your thoughts are welcome!

You could try asking at a vauxhall dealer, they may be more likely to part ex it as it's their marque.

Just find a diesel you like and go see if they will do you a deal on something.
