Default knocking......

Tried my luck in the general section but no real joy so....

Iv got a knocking/thumping noise when I turn at slow speeds after driving for a while. It doesn't happen when Im just pottering about town, only after Ive done about 15 - 20 miles. It feels like a thumping feeling I can feel through the steering wheel

Any ideas gurus?!

Power steering rack / servo pump / hydraulic problem? The reason I say that is that you say it only happens when turning and only after the car is up to running temperatures, the pump might start to lose pressure after a while given you a knocking / hydraulic pressure loss.

I'm probably wrong but you never know...

Could be anything.

Worth checking the Fan belt for quick and easy fix.

My old blue one would had a thumping when turning, turned out the belt was a little loose, it would slip a little (No squeeling) and the power stearing would pulse.

as said if not it could be a long list of things.
