Really sorry to hear that mate, gutted for you. I will keep my ear to the ground but my mate was made redundant last week and my current place of work doesnt exist any more either so things are a little up in the air.

I hope it all gets sorted very soon for you.

Gutted for you Lee. Jobs are getting hard to come by these days, especially good ones. Have you thought about returning to car mechanics?

total **** take if you ask me , why say what they did then tell you your going , when theres probably some ****** in the corner cant do bugger all just rely on others to cover him .
at the end of the day it should be down to skill level and ability not how long youve been there , those days are long gone .
good luck with the search

Mate I'm sorry to read your bad news.....Not good! But there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. If you have been made redundant your entitled to a programme called ReAct, which allows you to access a pot of money to retrain or upskill plus, if your taken on by an employer they will also be entitled to a pot of money to take you on. You have 6 months to access this package from the date of redundancy.

Book yourself in to your local Careers Service to access the support, your entitled to it (if made redundant due to job cuts etc).

Pm me if you like for further details, I know this as I'm a Career Adviser who deals with redundancies on a daily basis.

There are offices all over Wales.

Sorry to hear about your bad news Lee, I hope you find something soon.

As posted above there are options open to you, perhaps even expand your mechanical skills and look at a career back on the spanners.

You may find that other avenues will open up. I went through the same thing, last in first out. Since then I landed my dream job. You may just be fortunate to get laid off.

Lee I'm gutted for you mate!!

I have never believed in last in first out, it should come down to current, past performance, ability and skill in whether you keep your job! Get rid of the shirkers and keep the staff that work hard for their buck!

Your a grafter mate and I'm sure your find something soon!

All the best Lee!

Si

Lee just seen this as ive been away on hols, gutted to hear this mate there really are some ***** out there, no-one deserves to be treated as you have mate in the workplace it really sucks. Good luck on the job front whatever you decide, as others have said, although it may not seem like it atm everything happens for a reason and this will be an opportunity for you to start afresh with a new job or even maybe start your own buisness.
Alll the best mate
