Default RIM Motors Barry...

Has anyone had any dealings with these guys in the past?

I put my car in for an MOT and they failed it on brake pads and excessive movement in the handbrake. Both have now been fixed by the lads in the workshops at my work but when the lads gave it a quick once over before I took it back for the re-test they told me that there was alot of things that RIM's had not picked up (Numberplate bulbs...)

I took the car back down to RIM's yesterday for the re-test at 07.45 and didnt hear from them untill 12.30 untill one of their fitters called me asking where my locking wheel nut is? I then get another call at 16.45 asking the same question? That tells me that from 07.45 untill 16.45 my car had not even been touched even though I told them I needed it back asap.

They had still not called me by today so I rang them (13.30) to see what the problem was and the receptionist advised me that "there was no update, the fitter is on the phone"

If the re-test is not done today then a full re-test has to be done and a full MOT fee payed again.

Surely they will have to foot the bill for you if they simply don't get round to doing it though.

Got my MOT done yesterday near my place and it only took two hours from drop off to pick. This included the slight "emissions" issue that they helped with

I always give a drop off and pick up time if I am getting anything done. Also, they are not allowed to do any extra work until they phone me and tell me what it is.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Hope it gets sorted.

Take it to W Holmes' in Evans St next time mate, I took mIne to Rims before, they almost ripped the splitter off taking it off the ramp! I waited there while they carried the MOT out, it failed on number plate lights and brake pads and emissions they said if I got the lights and pads sorted they'd pass it! Best thing is to wait for it, watch what they do!

TBH if they didnt retest it today because of they're sh1tness then they need to foot the bill, end of!

Will do Merv, Its a right pain because everytime I take it down I have to get the train all the way back to camp and walk about 2miles from Llantwit Station up to camp!

I called them again earlier about 17.00 and they promised they would call me back by the end of the day....no phone call!

Do you two work at Saints?

When I take mine to my local ( Bridgend) for an MOT, I'm booking in for a certain time and then I wait there...Plenty to read and it never drags as they start it right when I arrive and before ya know it, time to go home
