Default What Do You Think Of This...

I have just managed to get hold of something special for my Spec C - a WRC spec front bumper, pics as below which show it fit to the current owners car.

It is the only genuine one in the UK and I believe it will really make the front end of the car a lot meaner, should work well with the carbon fibre WRC mirrors thatI have ready to go onto the car as well.

The WR blue used on the newages has a slight pearlescent finish, it can look slightly mismatched on even a new car - my Hawkeye looked the same.

Believe it or not I think there are three different versions of the 02C paint code used for WR blue, you would think that one manufacturer ie Subaru would simplify things not make them worse.

I know I had the same when I ordered a touch up stick from Subaru, the best thing is to go into Halfords with a small piece of painted trim and they can exactly match up the paint.

Come on Dyl at least a bag of proper chips !!

Ty was that the touch up you gave me ? unfortunately it went all hard and dry in the car while at Dylan's place - we must have had a warm few day's then

I will see what they can do

Tart. You made the poor man strip a V-Limited car of good bits before he sold it.

Good buy though

there are actually 12 different shades including specials according to ICI
(I work in a paint supplies shop and mix paint for bodyshops)

Quoted from the ICI site
Available shades for SUBARU 02C / 02C - BLUE, WR BLUE

XLA5BNO 1Prime / No 1
6HHVB(KL)Coarser LighterAgreed Variant****
15TCB(R/L)Redder Face ; Lighter FlopProposed Variant
YWW5B(A/D)(X1)Darker FlopSpecial
2BKEB(A/L)(X3)Lighter FlopSpecial
3NKCB(B)(X6)BluerSpecial
6CTRB(B)(X10)BluerSpecial
4JTFB(C)(X8)CleanerSpecial
4JNPB(D)(X7)DarkerSpecial
2AEFB(R)(X2)RedderSpecial
3DWNB(R)(X5)RedderSpecial
5WNLB(R)(X9)Redder
with the coarser lighter shade being most popular (that doesnt automaticly mean that its right though). it is hard colour to get good coverage so i always mix it in high solids.

That's a nice find Ty, I'd get it as it should keep it's value. Those side vents are asking to be filled with an oil cooler!

I know I'm a mercenary, but I just like it because it is different and no one else will have quite the same.

I know what you mean Richard, the car is having a Setrab/Mocal competition oil cooler fitted during the course of the engine being removed.

I have a lovely very large APS FMIC to fill the gap up nicely, Dylan has done a trial fitment and it will look the mutts nuts (albeit without the bumper).
