Had a similar experience with an ARC or similar car wash, next to the old Neath Hospital site a few years ago - they advised me not to go through with my Spoiler (Sti 7 one). Unless you know of a good trusted hand wash one ??

I saw the thing on tv the other day about car washes and they did a survey on a jetwash a normal car wash and a hand wash, the rsult were surprising that the normal car wash was best and the jetwash came last due to the brush being full of grit and then your rubbing it all over your car!!!
The real surprise was you would have expected the handwash to be the best and due to the guy using one of those plastic squeegy things it scratched the whole of the car
Guess what they went to use on my car at the weekend when I went into the local handwash...ive never jumped out of my car so quick, the guy just looked at me as if I was mad when I told him to never go near my car with that thing because as you all know Ive just spent a small fortune having my car resprayed and getting it looking immaculate no way did I want any scratches or swirl marks after all the grief Ive had getting it to how it is at the moment.
I would say I would never even contemplate putting my car through a car wash.

snowfoam two buckets , sheepskin wash mitts , proper dying towels, quality products , at the end of the day you get what you pay for ,not a splash and dash where half a dozen spotty kids decend on your pride and joy , with the wash wter from yesterday .
but this is a car forum so you lot should be looking to clean the vehicle in the best way possible .
when you drive passed the car washes and see a nice /expensive car in there being attacked and wonder why , thats all they know as long as it looks clean chances are its not even theyre car .
